i had a 64 stingray and this does not compare with the style of the former. techno wise sure it beat the old days but give me a 365 horse and day for hot rod fun.

GM should stop reusing old names/numbers for new engines. it just confuses the issue. In this regard Ford has a better idea. How about giving it a name? Duntov 14? Naa that's no good, but something new would be better than the same old stuff

This is the best looking Corvette in the past 50 years. I love it! And, a few are complaining about the similarities in design cues from the Camaro, Ferrari, and Viper? hahaha. Like there's something wrong with that? Well done, GM!

How about starting up a West Coast Power Tour? It's pretty darn far for many of us to go to Texas and east from there. How about having a Tour going up the coast on Highways 1 and 101? San Diego to Seattle would be pretty cool. The Pacific Coast Highway is one of the prettiest drives in America. It's a perfect road for a hot rod tour. I'm in the Northwest and a lot of us Westerners would get in on that, but the midwest/east coast thing is too far. Any other Western hot rodders interested in this idea?

Ehhh. I think doubl0h7 says it about right. No way would I pay the kind of money it would take to own it. For that kind of coin, I could have a Shelby Super Snake that would leave this car in the dust. I realize Chevrolet can't just warm over the design of the '59,(which is arguably the nicest looking Corvette ever built) and be successful, so I don't know what the answer is, but this isn't it. About the coolest thing on this Corvette is the new Stingray emblem. I do kind of like that. The rest of it looks like the engineers were just trying to outdo themselves by starting with a little bit of Corvette, a little Viper, then mix in a little European design, and finally glassing in a slightly modified Camaro rear valance. I know some guys are going to love it, and that's great. It just doesn't do it for me.

Well they've needed a small economy car since they killed the Neon and Darts originally came in a lot of combinations including a 4 door with a small, for the time, engine to save gas.
I'm OK with it BUT I hope they bring out a 2 door coupe too so we can have a sportier version just like they did the Neon after the first early cars were introduced.
I have a 69 dart V8 hardtop and a 95 Neon 2 door coupe and guess wich one I now drive daily
I can't afford one either way but I want Mopar to do well and continue to exist so I hope it does well and they add more cool versions and options without pricing it out of reach.

This is a question nobody was asking and it's a look, but not a cool look for an early Mustang. There are so many great ways to modify a car, why not do something that gives the car a little more rake, a little more stance, a more aggressive look, and grabs you by the throat.

I think the design is about 30% overwrought. Too much sculptured surfaces and not enough pulling all of the sculpturing together. Maybe they were looking at too many Hundais and got a little scared, but I wish they had toned it down a bit.

Yes it has styling cues from other vehicles, and I think if I were to chose a Ferrari model they used for inspiration it would be the 599 more so than the 458 Italia though I do see wisps of the Italia as well. Let's face it though, sexy is sexy and this baby is overqualified in that department.

If this Vette doesn't deserve the "Stingray " moniker none of them do. This vehicle isn't so much beautiful as it is arresting. You can't stop looking at it (why would you want to). Oh and I didn't mean it isn't beautiful, it most certainly is. It's just that this vette is so much more that beautiful just doesn't cover it. Well done!

THE NEW STINGRAY IS VERY DESERVING OF THE NAME. IT IS THE MOST RADICAL DESIGN CHANGE EVER AND IS SO PERFECT, I WISH I HAD WAITED TO BUY MY 2013 TILL THE STINGRAY CAME BUYABLE, BUT I LOVE MOST ALL CORVETTES!!!

stingray? Heck no. My car isn't even a "stingray".

I agree with doubloh7:looks like a camaro rear-ended a C6, which in turn rear-ended a (i don't know what). Those headlights aren't a new idea. I've seen C3's with similar headlights from a toyota celica.
Oh and those wheels? Look like they came off a Ford Edge. Performance-wise, it's awesome, but looks? it's a double-bagger.

"duct tape a camaro rear clip to a viper front end and you get the same look."... hahaha, you know what they say about opinions...I think Its a home run and with the new LT1 achieving the peak HP at such a low RPM and keeping it thru a long range,..me likey

What if Martini and Ford wanted to build an endurance race car? They would have looked at the results of the similarly powered first GT40 and given the whole thing to Shelby for a decent small block!! Looks very cool though. Also, I don't remember Lotus having anything to do with the development of the engine other than putting it in the back of a car at Indy??

I like it. People see Ferrari in the fenders and I agree. People see Nissan GTR in the roof but am I the only one who sees Aston Martin DBS? As for the rear I see corporate identity. If the base model does sub 4's I wait with anticipation for the hopped up ones.

If I had the dollars to own a '66 Fastback I doubt I'd have the guts to make it look like this car. I'd really, really, really want to make it look, and run, and drive like I'd expect this one does, but I'm not crazy enough... This thing is beautiful!
